When Justin Kellett Opticians opened in 2014, as a fully independent practice in the centre

Having managed a boutique opticians for 18 years David H Myers in Southport, Justin decided to branch out himself and
within six years was ready to expand and grow the business. With a loyal and dedicated
team, Justin was excited when the opportunity to move into much bigger premises came in
the shape of the Horwich former Barclays Bank. An iconic building which closed in 2018,
perfect for an impressive 10 meter showroom, show-stopping shop frontage and a newly
refurbished luxury viewing and collection vault for extra privacy.
Still located on Winter Hey Lane, the Justin kellett brand underwent a makeover in 2020 and
is proud to boast an ever growing client base in the town. As Horwich expands and new
businesses grow and prosper, eye care is an important part of daily life for everyone.
Since qualifying as an optician in 1994, Justin finally made the leap and opened his own
practice in Horwich in 2014 and just three years later found himself a finalist at the
prestigious industry ‘Oscars’ nominated for Dispensing Optician of the Year in 2017. More
than six years later, Justin Kellett Opticians has also had a brush with celebrity having had a
fleeting cameo in Peter Kay’s Car Share.
With a small, dedicated team of highly qualified eye care professionals, the practice is fully
independent so they’re not tied to any particular brands. At Justin Kellett Opticians, he and
his staff care about their customers’ experience, priding themselves on providing an
unhurried and truly personal experience.
Unlike some larger chains, Justin himself is committed to ensuring that his customers have
the benefit of a fully qualified dispensing optician to ensure that the frames and lenses
recommended are appropriate to your lifestyle and profession. Many larger establishments
often have unregistered and in-experienced assistants which can lead to customer
disappointment with ill-fitting or unsuitable glasses.
Justin Kellett and his team want to dispel the myth surrounding optical services, eye testing
is a very serious matter for our health, safety and lifestyle but wearing glasses and contact
lenses has become very fashionable and fun.
In recent years, the team has noticed a growing designer brand following and with a wealth
of big names under their belt, Justin Kellett may be Bolton based but their client base is
widespread with customers travelling across the north west to be fitted with the very best
From NHS patients, children’s eye care to local celebrities and holiday makers in search of
the latest styles in sunglasses, every customer is welcomed with the same warmth and
professionalism. The great news is with sparkling new, larger premises, Justin Kellett can
offer the same quality on a bigger scale with more space for social distancing which can
accommodate a far more personal, private fitting service too.
